shoulda got my shit together sooner.
hopefully there’ll be some live footage/tons of live sets to obsess over.
I’ll never know why but I still miss you
and then suddenly I’m wide awake
it’s stupid how much people (including myself) love “Call Me Maybe”
like srsly, watthefuck.
but really i do love this song.
Alesso, have my babies and give them whatever power you have to make already great things fucking godly?
also, Sebastian Ingrosso and Avicii - same deal.
okay, i’ve been posting a ton of music shiiii tonight. but for serious. let me tell you about this song
IMO, “Levels” is the best song. like, definitely the best house song, regardless of how many times it’s over-played in the clubs/by EVERYONE including myself. when it drops, everyone is losing their shit. or maybe it’s just me, but i’m so pumped up that idgaf what anyone else is doing. i like can’t even describe it. Additionally, i love every remix i’ve heard of this song. Levels backwards? fuck yes. Flo Rida remix? i can stand it for the Levels in the background (rather be listening to the original version, obvs) Skrillex remix? I’m not a huge fan of Skrillex or dubstep overall, but I LOVE his remix of Levels. As far as I’m concerned, you can’t go wrong with Levels.
but okay, this version of levels blows my mind. the first time I heard it, or at least realized I was listening to it was during Alesso’s Essential Mix (which, additionally, is my absolute favorite essential mix). Seriously, I died a little bit. I memorized what time it came on during the two-hour long mix so that I could skip forward to it when necessary (1:16:00 appx). When Alesso dropped this bomb at Coachella, I legitimately almost starting crying. I’m not even embarrassed. There was a lot of me screaming to my friends “OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS SONG SERIOUSLY GUYS IM TEARING UP IM ABOUT TO START CRYING HARD CORE THIS IS AMAZING COACHELLLLLAAAAAA”.
This is like the third or so song that has convinced me that Alesso is a House-God and is totally and completely underrated. Have you heard Titanium? Now have you heard the Alesso Remix - which contrary to belief is not the original? I was listening to the original for about a month, because I didn’t realize how substantially different it was to the Alesso version. Now, the original is good. But the Alesso version is jaw-droppingly amazing in comparison. Even David Guetta (who created the original) played the Alesso version in his Coachella set.
Now this remix, I later found out, is a mashup of Levels and a song called Laktos by Sebastian Ingrosso, which I hadn’t noticed before cause it’s about 2 or 3 years old. Obviously, I’m gonna love it. Alesso, Ingrosso and Avicii are like my three favorite djs. Anything that brings together these three is gonna knock my socks off, especially when Alesso is the one ultimately mixing it.
Anyway, I’m way too much of a house music nerd, especially when it comes to Swedish House Djs. But seriously, I’m in love with this song.
[oh also, that’s Alesso talking on the video about the song]
oh also. Levels vs. Somebody that I Used To Know? yes please.
i would still be holding you like this
and all those fairy tales are full of shit
one more fucking love song ill be sick
i’m in a repetitive music mood, meaning that this song and “Little Talks” by Of Monsters and Men are being played on repeat.
also. can we talk about how amazing spotify is? Tumblr integration? i’m even more in love.
